The Porter adds something special to the play. He adds a comical relief
in the mist of all the serious actions. In Act II, he has become intoxicated. Well when Lennox and Macduff come to Macbeth's
house the night of Duncan's murder the porter has had so much alcohol that when he opens the door he imagines he was the Porter
at the gates of Hell. Which in my point of view seems very funny.
-He is a plain, common person.
-He stands out as being the only comical person in the play.
The porter really is very different than all of the other characters because
he simply doesn't care how he acts and what people think of him.
