The Tragedy of Macbeth

Macbeth is one one Shakespeare's shortest and most intense dramas. This Scottish tragedy is about Macbeth's bloody rise to power, including the murder of the Scottish king, Duncan, and the guilt-ridden pathology of evil deeds generating still more evil deeds.

Like all tragic heros before him, Macbeth's greatest lie is to himself. He becomes blinded by his ambition. His overbearing pride is so great that he fails to see as he stumbles toward his destiny.
